Working as an Apprentice SOC Analyst in our MSS team, you will use your expertise and learn more to detect and respond to many threats of different abilities and sophistication. You will use SIEM, EDR, Network Monitoring, Bespoke Tooling, and Threat Intelligence solutions to prevent suspicious events, provide context and risk / threat assessments to users so that they can respond effectively and The environment can be constantly monitored. Yet it does not stop there.
Not only will you gain experience in assessing risks using all the information resources available to you, but you will also be involved in projects that maintain and enhance the capabilities of our services, and Ensure that we are providing innovative detection and response services to our clients. This includes assisting in the implementation of new technologies at risk, analysing malware, recommending detection, and participating in strategic cross-team projects as part of your broader role at our award-winning Security Operations Centre.

What you will do in your role:
As an Apprentice SOC Analyst you will work across our entire MSS technologies and functions: as a Security Analyst, Weakness Analyst, Security Engineer, and Implementation Engineer.
Below is an overview of what you can expect from these characters:
As an Apprentice SOC Analyst, you will be detecting and responding to many risks, which will help protect the UK’s largest businesses in a growing risk scenario. ۔ You will have experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, threat intelligence solutions with Active Defence Suites to prevent suspicious events. Learning to provide risk assessment to your customers.
Weakness scanning analyzer:
As an Apprentice Vulnerability Scanning Analyst, you will help support Nettitude’s Managed Vulnerability Scanning Service. You will work on a range of Tenable products, such as Tenable.io, Tenable.cs, Tenable.ep, and web application scanning. You’ll learn how we present and prioritise detectable threats to our clients, as well as how to configure and manage scans.
Technology that underpins SOCs requires daily management with maintenance and upgrades. As an Apprentice Security Engineer, you will learn about the ‘back end’ of our technology stack. Creating and tuning new detections and learning how to fix common problems in LogRhythm. You will gain a broader understanding of how all of our technologies fit together to enable SOC to work.
Security Implementation Engineer:
This role is on the service delivery side of our managed security services. You can expect to be involved in the implementation, configuration, and deployment of a number of networked security technologies. You will learn how important this role is in bringing new clients on board by helping our SOC consultants develop new monitoring use cases and playbooks tailored to client needs.
What we’re looking for:
Key Experience, Skills and Requirements: Familiarity with Windows and Linux Ability to document and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Familiarity with Python and RegEx Understanding the basics of networking Incident management in a controlled, security operations environment Understanding the role of SIEM and MDR technologies within SOC in managing and dealing with events. Interest in aggressive tools, techniques, vulnerabilities, and their antiquities – for example, Kali, Fileless Malware, ATT & CK, CWE, CVE, OWASP An intense desire to constantly challenge and develop themselves as part of a fast-paced, high-performing team
Admission requirements for this program are as follows:
International Bachelor’s degree in ICT or Level 3 in ICT or Level 3 Apprenticeship in a similar subject or BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
Be 18 years of age or older before starting the data and have the right to live and work in England. Have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years. Become a UK resident for the entire duration of the program. Do not register to study in UK government-funded courses ending June 2022 or later.
